Good Sales Don't Just Happen - They're Managed

Blue Horizon

A nice crowd gathered on a beautiful sunny day for the Blue Horizon Dispersal, held at the farm near Verndale, MN on Saturday, June 12th. The exceptional lineup was sold to breeders in ten states from coast to coast.

Topping the sale at $15,700 was Lot #1, the 2E-92 Rudolph Suann who has a nationally listed record of 56,910 3.5 1971 3.3 1867 @ 4 Yr. She was milking 156 lbs and headed for another big record, and is backed by 3 VG and EX 1100F dams. This successful flush cow was purchased by Mayerlane Holsteins of Bloomer, WI.

The second high seller at $8500 was a red Spring Yearling Rubens from a 2E-91 dam with 44,112 4.4 1951 3.2 1394 and then 2 VG 100,000 lb dams. This stylish heifer was purchased by Matt & Leah Henkes of Luana, IA. Next in line at $7700 was a beautiful BW Marshall bred heifer; her VG-88 dam had 48,310 3.2 1540 3.4 1654 and then 3 VG and EX 30,000 lb dams. She was purchased by Premier Genetics, Waukon, IA.

Owners Harvey and Dave Schoon and their families provided a pre-sale full hot breakfast. When the final gavel fell, the the 197 full lots averaged $2,434. Managed by Tom Morris LTD, the sales force included Roger Turner, Scott Courtney, Don Mayer, Scott Culbertson, Steve Peterson & H. John Meyer. Joel Kietzman and Randy Kath had a large crew assembled to prepare the cattle.
