Good Sales Don't Just Happen - They're Managed
Harvest at Chelsea
Held at the farm just north of Glencoe, MN on October 18th, this sale featured an impressive lineup of registered Holsteins. The 74 lots offered by owner Gale Hoese averaged $3272, with buyers from Minnesota and surrounding states, plus Canada and Mexico.
An impressive VG-86 two year old by Durham backed by six Excellent Moondale-bred dams topped the sale at $18,200 to the Alicia Syndicate of Glencoe, MN. Gale's brother, Tim, who purchased the farm to house his well-known Xcaret Holsteins, gave $9000 for a Sept 05 Shottle from the sale topper.
The second high at $17,000 was a lovely-uddered red Advent from four generations of VG & EX dams with over 30,000M. Dale Bienert, Byran Gross and Don Wright of Alberta, Canada outbid breeders from British Columbia and Ontario.
Nancy Thomson of Fieldstone Farm gave $9400 for a stunning two year old Roy. Shes from the same Pinehurst family that produced the breeds first 13th generation Excellent.
Tom Morris sold the sale with Steve Peterson highlighting the pedigrees.
