Good Sales Don't Just Happen - They're Managed
R-Sher Holsteins Dispersal
The R-Sher Holsteins Dispersal was held on Saturday, September 8, 2007, in Eastman, Wisconsin and averaged $3006 on 94 lots.
The herd is the result of a very successful career in dairying and breeding Holsteins by Roger and Sheri Dingbaum and their family. The sale featured several descendants of the well-known Teri-Jo Jubilant Joy-Red 3E-94, the 4 time Madison winner and 3 time All-American Red & White.
A large number of Minnesota breeders made the trip down to support the Dingbaum's daughter Jennifer, who serves as the general manager of the Minnesota Holstein Association.
Reid Stransky of Owatanna, MN purchased the high seller of the day at $7700, a stylish *RC two year old By Talent from a VG daughter of the 3E-94 Joy. Also bringing $7700 was a VG-88 Durham from an EX-91 deep-pedigreed Marclif-Ridge cow. The Troesters of Maars Dairy in Garnavillo, IA took her home.
An EX *RC Rubens, who completes 5 generations of VG and EX dams back to Continental Scarlet 3E-95 GMD, commanded $7400 to Joe Zuercher of Postville, IA.
Allen and Shirley Sell spent $7,000 for the opportunity to add a very special VG-87 young West-Port Rman Moose-Red daughter from an EX dam to their well-known Sellcrest herd at Watertown, WI.
The sale included the entire milking herd and select heifers, with 30 reds and 30 red carriers. Managed by Tom Morris Ltd, Tom and Sandy were assisted by Scott Courtney, Steve Peterson, Kevin Jorgensen, Joel Kietzman and Reid Stransky
