| ![]() Good Sales Don't Just Happen - They're Managed 5 Year Old Storm Tops Dodge-View Dispersal
After 45 years of successful breeding by the late Bob Meudt, his wife Grayce and their family, the milking operation of Dodge-View was discontinued on August 26th at their picturesque farmstead outside of Dodgeville.
Dodge-View enjoyed a great deal of success over the decades. They have bred nearly 60 EX, 6 GMD and 13 DOMs, and have bred many local, state and national show winners and All-Americans. This PBR award winning herd carried a 107.2 percent BAA and was a Wis Certified Johnes free herd.
Topping the Dodge-View Milking Herd and Select Heifer Dispersal for $4,700 was a VG-87 5 year old Storm daughter. Her three VG dams go back to Dodge-View Elevation Charm VG-89 DOM 311,000 LT, matriarch of a large Dodge-View family. She was sold to Richard Harbaugh of Guttenberg, IA.
Alan Hageman of Decorah, IA purchased the second high seller for $4,500. This fancy-uddered red Rubens 4 year old is VG-87 EX-MS and sold bred to Kite. In total, 104 full lots were dispersed to four states and averaged $2,630.
The sale was managed by Tom Morris Ltd with Tom auctioneering and Sandy clerking. Brian Behnke made the announcements, and additional sales force were Scott Courtney, Don Mayer and Joel Kietzman. | |
