Elk-Creek-Acres Complete Dispersal

It was a beautiful cool early fall day for the Elk-Creek-Acres Complete Dispersal held on September 12th at the farm south of Menomonie, Wisconsin. Richard and Steve Miller had invested in several high profile families over the years that helped create a great deal of pre-sale excitement.

Topping the sale at $10,500 to Jordan and Claire Van Dyk of Willows Edge Holsteins in New Richmond, WI, was a showy Dec '06 Toystory heifer from a VG-88 1251F daughter of the well-known Dalse Bomaz 1551 EX GMD DOM. Carrying impressive numbers and from a successful AI family, she's a sure bet contract heifer.

Gary Sell of Watertown, WI gave $10,200 for a big, powerful red Talent heifer springing to Advent. Her VG-88 young Paradox dam was due shortly to Goldwyn and sold to Allan and Shirley Sell for $9,200. This fine pair is backed by 6 generations of VG and EXs, the first five have over 1300F. This pair will be developed together at Sellcrest.

Grady Auer of New London, WI, purchased the EX 1304F Lee daughter of the famous Acme Star Lily for $10,000. Her seven young daughters and embryos added another $34,300 to the sale's bottom line.

At the end of the day, the 119 lots averaged $3506. The sale was managed by Tom Morris Ltd, with Tom and Sandy at their stations and assisted by Scott Courtney, Don Mayer, Jim Powers, Kevin Jorgensen and Joel Kietzman.
