Hagen Holsteins Complete Dispersal

Billed as one of America's fanciest homebred herds, the Hagen Dispersal on May 31, 2007 certainly lived up to everyone's expectations. A tentful of active bidders appreciated the beautiful lineup that averaged $4218 on 92 lots and were scattered to new homes in seven states. This 100% homebred lineup was a result of four decades of breeding and developing Holsteins by Keith and Sharon Hagen. Sporting a 110% BAA, the Hagens have bred and exhibited several national show winners including three at Madison, three All-Americans and two All-Canadians over the years.

The Kasbergen family of Mansfield, IL purchased 10 head, including three of the high sellers, to add to their exciting herd. Topping the sale at $25,000 was the beautiful Fall Yrlg Hagen Dundee Misty. From an EX-92 1257F dam who completes 9 generations of VG and EX, Misty was Jr Champion at last year's Wisconsin Championship Show and nominated for All-American. Misty was purchased by Carson Kasbergen who also took Hagen Terrason Nadeen, a super Sept '06 Terrason from a 2E-91 144,000 LT, then two dams VG-88 with over 152,000, for $10,000. Grant Kasbergen selected a stylish Dec'06 Stormatic for $10,000. Her VG dam was a full sister to the EX-93 Madison Jr Champion and All-American All-Canadian Hagen Starbuck Aki. The next dams were 3E-91 DOM and 2E-91 DOM. Also bringing $10,000 to the Ochs Cattle Co of Milton, WI, was another special Dec '06 heifer. This one was sired by Hillcroft Majestic from a 2E-91 1085F national show winner who completes 7 VG and EX dams.

The sale was managed by Tom Morris Ltd, with Tom and Sandy at their usual stations. Assisting were Roger Turner, Scott Courtney, Don Mayer, Dave Schmocker, Rodney Hetts, Brian Behnke, Mark Rueth and Nicky Reape.
