Good Sales Don't Just Happen - They're Managed
Reflections of Holbic II
Returning for Reflection of Holbric II, a large crowd made their way to Harvard, IL on Monday, July 2nd. The Olbrich family hosted their first sale in 2005, and received many favorable results and prepared another fine line-up. Topping the sale at $16,000 was Kingsmill Rebel Dayna, a lovely July '05 Dundee daughter from 13 Excellent dams from the prominent Audrey Posch family. Due at the end of July and carrying a Roy heifer calf, Reyna was the 2nd place Summer Yearling at last year's IL State Fair and was purchased by Derrick Page of Missouri.
Lot #1 was the second high seller on the day, Holbric Gibson Christine-ET EX-92. Christine has nine Excellent dams tracing to Gray-View B D Crissy EX-93 and the maternal line has snared numerous All-American honors over the years. Deronda-JK Dairy Division (Jake Kruschke & Tom Morris) of New Richmond, WI took Christine home with a final bid of $10,200.
Third high of the day, a November '06 Rampage, Goldfawn-Hol Melonie-Red-ET, brought $10,000 from Nate Goldenberg of McGregor, TX. A stylish, eye-catching calf, Melonie's dam is Derrwyn Paradox Mary-Red EX-90, Nom All-American R&W Jr 2 Yr Old '05 and is fresh again and looking forward to the fall shows. Mary's maternal sister, Derrwyn Miss Special-Red EX-94 was All-American R&W 5 Yr Old, and their dam was HM All-American R&W '03, Derrwyn Factor Miata-Red 2E-94.
The 89 head sale averaged $3,789. Bill and Janice Olbrich along with their family, Brian & Mary, Mark and Deb, once again hosted an outstanding sale!
