![]() Good Sales Don't Just Happen - They're Managed Jerian Summer Sale The Jerian Summer Sale was held on a beautiful cool summer day on August 20th outside of Barron, WI. The Jackson family proudly presented 76 homebred cows and heifers for an outstanding average of $3553. The herd carried impressive statistics with a 110.5% BAA and a RHA over 30,000 1230F 920P. The Jacksons have earned 9 PBR awards and have already bred 70 Excellents and 15 GMDs. Three young cows were paired, with the buyer taking their choice and the other remaining at Jerian. The top seller was a big, beautiful, recently fresh heifer by Comestar Laurier. Backed by 5 generations of high producing VG and EX dams, she had 137 lbs for the tester. David Bachmann and Sonny Bartel joined forces to purchase her at $11,100. Third high at $8500 was an EX-91 Lee with 32,960 6.0 1971 3.5 1151 @ 4-01. She was working on another impressive record. Her 4E-95 dam was the first cow in America to complete three consecutive 2000F records. Doug Reynolds of the United Kingdom purchased her and she will be housed at Mayerlane Holsteins in Bloomer, WI. The sale was managed by Tom Morris Ltd, with Tom auctioneering and Sandy clerking. They were assisted by Roger Turner, Scott Courtney, Don Mayer, Rodney Hetts, Todd Searles, Scott Culbertson, and Larry Jerome. Son-in-law Joel Kietzman and his crew had the herd in beautiful condition for this special event. |
