Good Sales Don't Just Happen - They're Managed
Lime-Ridge Dispersal
A nice crowd assembled at Bill and Elaine Letter's Lime Ridge Farm near Black Creek, Wisconsin on April 19th
for the complete dispersal of the fine homebred herd. Billed as an exceptional homebred herd backed by an
exceptional farm family, the sale was packed with family members during the pre-sale introductions. Ten of
the eleven of Bill and Elaine's children were back home with numerous grandchildren to assist in the sale
preparations and celebrate their parents fine career.
The sale averaged $2480 on 82 lots and found homes in four states. Marty and Sue Weiss of Beaver Dam,
WI paid $4200 for a beautiful Durham heifer from a VG-87 1320F dam and a VG-89 grandam with three 1000F
records for their rebuilding program of the Mic-Mon-Dou herd. Three other individuals commanded $4100 to
tie for the runner-up title. A super Sept '03 Eland from an EX dam with two 30,000 lb records was selected
by Wichman Farms at Appleton, WI. Wes Vomastic of Pulaski, WI bought a beautiful, recently fresh Rubens
heifer and Wilstar Holsteins of Poy Sippi, WI, took the end stall bred heifer home, sired by Derry from
a VG-87 Integrity with over 32,000M and bred to Hi Metro. Joe Thiel flew in from Kuna, ID an was the
successful buyer of six nice pedigreed heifers.
The sale was managed by Tom Morris Ltd of Amery, WI with Tom and Sandy being assisted by Brian
Behnke highlighting pedigrees; Scott Courtney, Decorah, IA and Don Mayer, Bloomer, WI working the ring.
Ryan Krohlow from nearby Krohlow's Holsteins, did a superb job in preparing the herd for the special day.
