![]() Good Sales Don't Just Happen - They're Managed Omthill Dispersal
A nice crowd filled the tent on a beautiful summer day for the Omthill Dispersal held July 10th near New Auburn, WI. Wayne and Mary Ann Omtvedt and their daughters Staci, Sarah and Stephani have been familiar faces in the Holstein industry and had enjoyed a great deal of success in the junior shows throughout Wisconsin. Creating a great deal of interest was the sale-topping daughter of Mr Manhattan, scored VG-87 with over 1000F at 2 yrs. She sold fresh a month and milking over 100 pounds. She is backed by a VG-87 1222F dam, then a VG and EX Canadian dams. Young Tyler O'Neill of Waukon, Iowa, gave $9700 for the opportunity to develop her. Already raised to EX, she was named 1st 4 Yr Old, Sr & Reserve Grand Champion of the Open Show and Grand Champion of the Jr Show at the Iowa State Show shortly after the sale. The final tally showed a $2263 average on 58 lots plus 18 baby calves bringing an additional average of $835.
