![]() Good Sales Don't Just Happen - They're Managed Prime Time at Sherona Hill The Prime Time at Sherona Hill on Tuesday evening, September 28th was hosted by
Mike and Sheryl Deaver at their farm near Edgerton,WI. Managed by Tom Morris Ltd, this special event drew a
large crowd of active breeders from across America who were in the area for World Dairy Expo. A beautiful lineup of 21 Jerseys started the sale, with Chris Hill and Norm Nabholz in the box, and averaged $3738. Topping this section of the sale was a stunning Milking Fall Yearling by Piedmont Nadine Furor from an E-93% show-winning dam with 1179F, then five more VG and EX dams. Consigned by Nabholz Farm, she was purchased for $11,100 by Howard Binder and went on to be a popular class winner at the World Dairy Expo. The 2nd high Jersey, purchased by Nabholz and Bill Taylor at $7000, was a 1st choice Shamrock Duaiseoir from the famed Hollylane Jewels Jasmine E-94%. She completes 4 generations of Excellent major-league show winners and won at last yearŐs All-American and World Dairy Expo. Ehrhardt, Heath and Stephens were the consignors. A sterling lineup of 67 Holsteins followed the Jerseys and averaged $7504. A pair of big time 5 Year Olds drew worldwide attention. Commanding $59,000 from Purple Fever, Dyment and Hogge was Lot 2, the EX-92 Cobequid Spumantes Beaute, just coming off being named Grand Champion at the Eastern States. This 5th generation VG or EX stood 2nd later in the week in the strong 5 Yr Old class at the World Dairy Expo. Selling for $53,000 to the Kallie Associates c/o RP Brown was the EX-95 popular show-winning Bulrush Jed Kallie. This deep pedigreed 7th generation VG or EX also made an impressive showing, standing 7th in the big 5 Yr Old class at World Dairy Expo. A dozen lots sold for over $10,000, with buyers from 14 states coast to coast as well as Canada and Mexico. A nice pre-sale social hour and barbeque was sponsored by Performance Products Inc. A large number of friends assisted with cattle preparation and sale day activities. Tom Morris sold the Holsteins, with Norm Nabholz making the announcements. Sandy Morris handled the business end of the sale. |
