Good Sales Don't Just Happen - They're Managed

The 3rd Edition of this highly successful series was held on Saturday, May 6th at the Van Mersbergen’s Markwell Holsteins outside Lynden, Washington.

The sale had four high sellers over the $25,000 mark. Matt and Mandy Nunes gave $52,100 for the rights to develop Paradise-RV Durham Pride-ET, a beautiful *TV Durham heifer from the twice World Dairy Expo Supreme Champion Paradise 2E-96 DOM. She was offered by VanDyk-K of Lynden, WA and Rosedale of Oxford, WI. The second high seller at $27,000, going from Markwell to Mandelyn Holsteins in Chilliwack, British Columbia, was Markwell Marshall Diamond, a 6th generation EX from the Ravens.

Two sold for $25,500. Lot 1, an Excellent red carrier Rubens from the Ravens went to Nelson Dairy in Urbana, Ohio, and a VG-88 EX-MS Durham daughter of Beachlawn Blwood L Lily 2E-93 GMD DOM milking 127 lbs at three years of age, went to Goldcrest Holsteins, also of Lynden, Washington.

The sale was hosted by Markwell, with partners VanDyk-K and Wilonna Holsteins of Buhl, ID also selling a group from their fine herds. Once again the sale was managed by Tom Morris Ltd, with 83 lots scattered across the continent to 17 states and provinces for an average of $6512.
