Snapshots of Springhill Starmark

It was a record-breaking day in Wooster, OH on May 28, 2005. The Snapshots of Springhill Starmark Sale averaged $10,968 on 39 Brown Swiss and 45 Holstein lots. It was the all-time high Brown Swiss sale average at $12,364, and sale-topper, Round Hill Pre Wishful, is the new highest selling Swiss heifer of all-time at $65,000. This All-American Fall Calf from 2003 was consigned by Starmark and Sandy Dale and was purchased by Springhill Swiss. The highest selling Holstein was a heavily contracted VG-87 Roy from an EX Sam with 39,450M. She was consigned by Uplands Farm, NY and was acquired by Springhill for $36,000. The Memorial Day weekend event also provided a junior showmanship contest and open house. Attendees were also treated to a pre-sale meal at Starmark prior to the start of the sale. Tom, Karen, Chris and Kendra Lang of Springhill, and Dean & Martha Davis and Craig & Amy Dudte of Starmark graciously hosted the event. Tom Morris Ltd managed the sale and was assisted by Wayne Sliker.
