Good Sales Don't Just Happen - They're Managed
World CLassic 2006
One of the largest crowds ever was on hand October 6th at Wold Dairy Expo to witness a record-setting World Classic. The 41 lots averaged an all-time high of $17,695, and perhaps the highest selling month-old calf in the world sold for $135,000!
The opening featured an emotional presentation on the big screen dedicated to the men who founded the World Dairy Expo forty years ago.
The high mark of the evening was reached half way through the sale when Rosedale Adventaeous Red-ET, a month-old Advent daughter from last years Supreme Champion Redrose, brought $135,000 from Sterndale & Riverdane Farms of the United Kingdom. At least 4 different bidders were in on the floor over $100,000 on this beautiful calf. Adventaeous was consigned by Rosedale, Mark Rueth & Nicky Reape, of Oxford, WI.
Another Sept 2006 calf was second high seller, with Richard Jordan of Idaho outlasting Jerland Farms of WI at $76,000 for the opportunity to purchase the first-ever offering from the famous Scientific Debutante Rae. The buyer had the privilege to pick from several Sept 2006 calves by Talent, including a R&W, from Matt & Mandy Nunes family of WI.
Next in line was another Sept 2006 calf, this time it was a Mr Sam daughter of the very popular All-American EO Siemers Ashlyns Angel VG-89. Angel is a Stormatic daughter of Ashlyn 2E-96 GMD DOM, the All-Time All-American 4 Yr Old.
Buyers from 14 states and 4 foreign countries made this years World Classic one to remember.
